OntaClean Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 28, 2026
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
OntaClean provides cleaning-service booking, cleaner onboarding and job tools, payments and payouts, customer support, websites, and related administration. This policy applies to the OntaClean customer app, the OntaCleaner professional app, OntaClean websites, and support or administrative interactions connected to those services.
OntaClean is responsible for the personal information it controls. Questions, access or correction requests, consent withdrawals, and deletion requests can be sent to info@ontaclean.com or submitted through in-app support. Legal notices may be sent to legal@ontaclean.com. We may need to verify identity before acting on a request.
2. Information we collect
Depending on the service and role, we may collect:
- account and contact information, including name, email address, telephone number, profile details, and service or mailing address;
- authentication and account identifiers from email/password, Apple, or Google sign-in;
- booking, job, purchase, refund, tip, gift-card, earning, payout, invoice, and transaction-status records;
- service details, access instructions, preferences, reviews, support requests, and private Client, Cleaner, or support messages;
- profile photos, chat or service evidence, and Cleaner onboarding, work-eligibility, insurance, or other compliance documents;
- precise location needed for service addresses, arrival verification, route progress, and active-job safety or support features. Cleaner background location is used only during disclosed accepted-job windows and may be shared with the assigned Client and authorized OntaClean personnel for service delivery;
- device, app, push-notification, installation, security, and diagnostic data; and
- app interaction and conversion events such as registration, booking started, booking submitted, confirmed purchase, Cleaner application, or profile completion. OntaClean's custom analytics events are designed not to include names, email addresses, telephone numbers, street or postal addresses, user, order, chat, or document IDs, messages, filenames, access instructions, or payment credentials.
We do not intentionally collect information from children below the age at which they may independently consent to these services. The apps are intended for adults able to enter service or work-related agreements.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- create, authenticate, secure, and support accounts;
- quote, schedule, deliver, track, document, and improve cleaning services;
- match Clients and Cleaners and support active jobs;
- process payments, refunds, tips, gift cards, earnings, and payouts;
- communicate service, safety, account, support, and promotional information in accordance with applicable consent and unsubscribe requirements;
- prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, unsafe activity, and payment risk;
- review Cleaner eligibility, compliance, service quality, and disputes;
- measure app reliability, feature usage, funnel performance, and campaign effectiveness; and
- meet tax, accounting, insurance, legal, regulatory, and record-keeping duties.
We rely on consent, performance of requested services or contracts, legitimate business purposes that do not override applicable rights, and legal obligations as permitted by Canadian and other applicable privacy laws.
4. Analytics, advertising measurement, and consent
OntaClean uses Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate app usage and the performance of defined product events. We do not set an OntaClean account user ID in Firebase Analytics, and our custom event contract uses bounded, non-free-form parameters.
OntaClean uses Meta App Events to measure app activation, registration, booking or application funnels, confirmed purchases, and advertising results. On Apple devices, Meta tracking and advertiser-identifier collection remain off unless the user first grants permission through App Tracking Transparency. If permission is granted, limited app-interaction and device-identifier data may be linked with third-party data by Meta for advertising measurement and related advertising purposes. Users may decline or later revoke permission in device settings. Declining tracking does not block account, booking, payment, onboarding, job, or support features.
The apps do not display third-party advertising. Analytics or advertising-measurement failures do not block core service flows.
5. Payments and payouts
Client card details are entered into payment interfaces provided by Stripe and are processed under Stripe's privacy and security practices. OntaClean receives transaction identifiers, status, amount, limited payment-method details where provided, and fraud or reconciliation information needed to operate the service. OntaClean does not store card security codes.
Cleaner payout onboarding and financial-account collection are also handled by Stripe. OntaClean receives connected-account, eligibility, payout, balance, and transaction information needed to administer earnings and payouts, but does not receive or store full bank-account credentials entered into Stripe-hosted interfaces.
6. Service providers and disclosures
We disclose information only as needed to operate the service, follow user instructions, protect users and the platform, or meet legal obligations. Main categories of recipients include:
- Google, Firebase, and Google Cloud for authentication, hosting, databases, storage, functions, notifications, analytics, maps, places, and routing;
- Meta for App Events measurement under the consent and configuration described above;
- Stripe for payments, fraud prevention, refunds, connected accounts, and payouts;
- Apple and Google for sign-in, app distribution, platform services, and push delivery;
- communication, email, support, professional-adviser, insurer, and compliance providers acting for OntaClean; and
- government, law-enforcement, court, tax, or regulatory bodies where legally required.
Clients and assigned Cleaners receive only the information needed for a service relationship. For example, an assigned Client may see a Cleaner's profile, arrival progress, and approved service or compliance indicators, while a Cleaner may see the service address, instructions, and Client contact or chat details needed to complete the job. Access is role- and assignment-limited.
We do not sell personal information. We do not disclose personal information to data brokers. If OntaClean is involved in a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or asset transfer, information may be disclosed subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal protections.
7. International processing
Our providers may process information in Canada, the United States, and other countries where they or their subprocessors operate. Information may therefore be subject to the laws and lawful-access requirements of those jurisdictions. We use contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information and service.
8. Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, including active account or service needs, safety and dispute handling, fraud prevention, backups, and legal, tax, accounting, insurance, and regulatory requirements. Retention periods vary by record type. Transactional and legal records may remain after account deletion where required, with profile data removed or de-identified where reasonably possible.
9. Security
We use access controls, environment separation, authentication, encrypted transport, provider security controls, least-privilege rules, audit records, and operational review intended to protect information. No system can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect account credentials and report suspected unauthorized access promptly.
10. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, users may request access to or correction of their personal information, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, object to or restrict certain uses, or request account and data deletion. The apps provide account-deletion controls, subject to safety, active-job, transaction, fraud, and legal-retention limits. Users may also:
- change location, camera, photo, notification, and tracking permissions in device settings;
- use in-app controls or contact support for account and privacy requests; and
- unsubscribe from promotional email using the message instructions while continuing to receive essential service or legal notices.
Withdrawal of optional analytics or tracking consent will not block core app features. Some permissions, such as active-job location for a Cleaner, may be necessary for the specific feature they support.
11. Children and role eligibility
OntaClean services are not directed to children. Cleaner accounts additionally require legal eligibility to perform the offered services and completion of applicable onboarding requirements.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy to reflect product, provider, legal, or operational changes. We will post the revised effective date and provide additional notice where required. Material changes will not retroactively reduce applicable rights without a lawful basis.
